James Keating : Autistic Flair

James Keating WIP

7:00 p.m.

Upstairs in The Classic Studio / 1st Floor
Auckland
$15 (Transaction Fees will apply) Duration: 60 mins

1 night only / Sat 8 March at 7pm in The Classic Studio.

Before taking his brand new show to the Dunedin Fringe Festival James Keating will do a warmup show in Auckland at The Classic Studio. With support from Nick Gibb.

Using his trademark endearing awkwardness, James reveals the lighter side of his late autism diagnosis.

His recent autism diagnosis gave him pause for thought, but he soon realised that - while his short-circuiting brain can trip him up - it’s also the source of his clever wordplay and funny one-liners. Plus, his sensory overload issues and emotional unavailability make his delivery hilariously deadpan. Roll up!

Nominated for the prestigious Billy T Award for comedy in 2009, and with appearances on TV2's Pulp Comedy and A Night at the Classic to his name, James Keating has unleashed his clean stylings on audiences throughout New Zealand and Australia. He's performed six solo shows at the New Zealand International Comedy Festival, as well as solo shows at the Christchurch Comedy Carnival and the Hamilton Fringe Festival.

"Endearing awkwardness wrapped around elegant, clever material. Genuinely smart, witty gags." - Christchurch Comedy Carnival
"Quick, clever, intelligent rapier wit." - TVNZ
